In my quest to make some adjustable USS U-bars with less seat interference (for a smaller turning circle) for my ActionBent Tidal Wave, I was looking for 7/8" OD aluminum tubing I could attach to some straight bar ends that were just a little too big to fit brake levers and twist shifters on. This would all be attached to an aluminum MTB riser handlebar.

I am probably going to be using a JB-welded wood dowel as an internal brace and the connection between the bar ends and the...

What kind of price should I expect to pay, to have someone cut the pump peg off my V-Rex and weld it back on in a new place?

I don't like the position it's currently in. I liked the Rocket peg better, where the pump is slung underneath the chanstays instead of on top. The on-top VRex position gets in the way of my new OnGuard cable lock (massively thick), and also it has forced me to design the aluminum mounts for my custom midship rack in a less-than-optimal design.

I recently got a letter from a young gent named Benoit Dery from Belgium who traveled down the same path as I. He bought a Challenge Taifun, enjoyed it but wanted something lighter. He then built a version in carbon and has done a remarkable job. He is in the process of documenting all on a web site.
